Came home to some new parts for the VR-4 on my front porch. EXCTIED!

Steel Braided brake lines for all four corners, and a mechanical/analog Boost gauge since Mitsubishi didn’t think I really needed one. My new front rotors should show up tomorrow, and the will be the right size!(unlike the ones I ordered from Tirerack.com) So if it all plays out right I’ll bring it to the tire shop Friday, and have a car by the weekend!.

Oh and I took a few shitty pics of the car the other day

I used to work for Auto Meter (which owns stack). I know that gauge pretty well.

Are you serious about that statement ? Auto Meter owns Stack ?

Don’t be to jealous. I’ve got myself over my head in a rare car that is hard to find parts for, and is possibly going to be a huge money pit/total PITA. lol But I’m looking forward to the challenge which is why I bought it.

Yea....I thought that was common knowledge. Your little gauge was assembled in Sycamore, Illinois.

Auto Meter has owned Stack for awhile now, but they have only been assembling all Stack products in Illinois for something like 2 years.

Auto Meter owns more than you might think including: Dedenbear, Cobb Tuning, Stack, ProParts (Spek Gauges), and a couple others I think. They even make all the battery test equipment for Autozone, O’Reily, and Costco.

It’s closer to being worth 80 bucks than most other gauges. My recommendation if you buy aftermarket gauges is Auto Meter’s competition series gauges....I believe Stack sells a version of them as well. Auto meter also has the fastest responding analog tachs, they are the only place you can buy air core tachometers anymore.

Well when you get it all squared away, and the “challenge” is over, I’ll gladly take it off your hands. :-)

That needle looks like one off of any of the Cobalt/C2/NV, etc series gauges.

Hooray another 4g63 on board and one of my favsies! Now we can share everything! I thought I commented on the thread where you were contemplating buying it. Maybe I had an unrelated anyurism and passed out for the afternoon.

Anyhoo we share at least some braking components an the SS brakes lines helped out more than I thought they would. Heh one of the mos cost effective upgraydd’s I ever did.

Have you looked into a new ISC valve for the rough idle? It mmmostly did the trick for when my idle went to shit, I’d recommend factory

But I also had ecu issues and some tired injectors. Do some seafoaming our engines love it. That reminds me a bad ISC can fry your ecu. Speaking of, have you considered a socketed ECU from ECM tuning or DSM chips ? My computer has been massaged by both companies well worth it. That opens the door to big-enough injectors/walboro 255 for an evo3 16G and you’re on your way to 300 hp...

Also join the dsmtuners.com forums and be slave to the classifieds section. DSMer’s are notorious parts hoarders & project abandoners. Not to scare you. Rally on

This dude offers a great breakdown. Could also be the BISS screw on the throttle body, don’t suppose any of that stuff has been touched in a while.

Either way it could be one, ideally not more than a few things leaking unmetered air causing the surge and none are a big hassle

Actually that’s a light diffusing pointer, a bit better than the Cobalt/NV stuff. Subtle difference, but it looks better at night.

Yea all their backlit pointers looks pretty much the same with the exception of the Prestige series. Those are my favorite.

They make a lot of good stuff. I like the Cobalt/C2 series myself.
